Nothing says relaxation more then a spa getaway with friends. My weekends usually consist of things like sports, kids parties and errands but not last weekend. For the first time in as long as I can remember me and three of my friends took a road trip to Connecticut for a weekend of pampering. Let me tell you it was just what this mom of three needed to feel recharged.

When we got there we were checked in by Carla who was super friendly. The spa offers several packages for your overnight stay as well as for the day. We selected the Spaliday package for our stay. Our room was ready on our arrival so we dropped off our things in our cute villa, got our robes on and called the door man who brought us back to the main building on a golf cart. You haven’t lived until you have been a passenger on a golf cart in a robe.

We then headed off to the spa where we were all getting massages. The spa has a beautiful indoor pool and the atmosphere was relaxing. We enjoyed our spa services but would I advise if you like a deep tissue massage to request it prior to your service as not all masseuses are able to provide that service. If you are looking for a recommendation, my friend thought Jessica gave an exceptionally good massage

Once back to the room we enjoyed a delicious cheese and cracker basket, courtesy of the general manager at the hotel. This basket can also be ordered on the website prior to arrival. In addition to the Farm to Table Cheese Basket you can choose from an assortment of amenities to add to your room stay. I would definitely suggest this basket as it was so good!

After we hung out catching up and eating lots of cheese we got ready in our villa which was fun. I actually put my makeup on while listening to music and dancing around. That hasn’t happened since I was in my 20s. One of the things I loved about our villa was that were two bathrooms. With four girls staying in the same space two bathrooms worked out great for us to get ready.

We called our chauffeur and he arrived right away with his golf cart to pick us up and bring us to Kensington’s restaurant which is located on the property. We were greeted by our waiter Ed who was absolutely amazing. His service the entire evening was wonderful. My favorite part was the way he describes the food with such passion. Not only was the description great but the foods itself was incredible. Chef Joseph came out to check on our meals and we were all extremely happy with our choices. I had the Tuna which I would absolutely suggest and we also shared the pumpkin gnocchi which I would highly recommend. Fun fact about the Gnocchi is it is made with honey that is grown right on the spa premise. Part of our Spaliday package included dinner so not only was it a fabulous dinner but it was all included (other then alcohol) in our original stay price.

After dinner we decided to hit the town and head out to do a little gambling at Mohegan Sun. It is literally 5 minutes away so the ride was super quick. The Inn does offer shuttle service to Foxwoods if you wanted to hit up that casino instead. We stayed out late gambling and had a great time at the casino.

In the morning we decided to detox from our late night out and hit up yoga with Rosa. My friend Michelle is a yoga instructor and I am more of a beginner so the good thing was the class was geared to all levels.

After clearing our minds and sweating out some of drinks from the night before we finished our stay with a delicious brunch that was also included in our package. My friend was obsessed with the scones so our waitress Samantha had the restaurant specially bake her fresh scones to take home which was so nice of them.

Our stay at The Spa at Norwich Inn was just what I needed! The packages offered are great, service was amazing and you get the benefit of relaxation and nightlife all in one place. If you haven’t planned a girlfriend getaway then I would highly suggest you book your spa package there today!
