Atlantic City Baby!

Let me start by saying Randy and I haven’t been away overnight in almost a year so wherever we went for a couples weekend would have been amazing. However I have to say we had a really great time in Atlantic City.  We went with 12 other couples from our neighborhood and it was astonishing that we were all able to get away.

Randy and I outside the Hard Rock

The Borgata is usually where we stay and we always have a good time there as it is an amazing hotel but this time I wanted to check out the Hard Rock since it is a newer hotel on the strip and I am so glad we did! The live music was great, the room size and decor were both really nice and the employees were all so friendly. I especially enjoyed the dealers at this hotel who were all fun and helpful.  The Hard Rock definitely met my expectations and I would absolutely stay there again.

Dinner at Kuro

As far as dining, if you enjoy a Japanese menu then I would highly suggest checking out Kuro. We had an assortment of food but the highlight of the meal was the Tuna Crispy Rice. It was so delicious we ordered a second round. All of the food was fresh and tasted so good.  It was a great place to start the kick off our weekend.

The next morning we took a quick trip and headed to Ocean Casino for the Exhale Spa. We booked the Flow Massage which was like a deep tissue but incorporated different stretches and movement to unlock the muscle and relieve tension. It was just what I needed. The spa itself had a lot of amenities but we took advantage of the Rock Salt Grotto and the Sauna.  The Suana and steam room were separate for boys and girls but the Grotto and the pool are co-ed. I was hoping I was going to walk out of the rock salt Grotto with amazing glowing skin in the mere 20 minutes I was in there but I really didn’t see a difference.

As for the evening I had a suite so decided to throw a little pre-party in the room. I hired catering through room service and they brought in a beautiful spread with tables and chaffing dishes. It was so elegant and a great way to stat the night. Then we headed back to Oceans Casino to the 1927 Lounge and Speakeasy. It was described as a burlesque show but I have to say that I had envisioned it more like I have seen in the movies with a group of ladies dancing and singing. There were some acts and it was very entertaining but it was on a smaller scale. The music in the lounge was amazing! My entire group absolutely loved the DJ and we all danced the entire time we were there. The lounge itself had a very cool vibe and the reserved area we had was perfect.  I was very happy that I decided to reserve an area at the 1927 Lounge and Speakeasy for his party. It was a great atmosphere and a perfect spot for cocktails and dancing!

Although we weren’t winners at the tables, Randy and I enjoyed an awesome birthday weekend getaway!
